By successfully completing this course participants will receive the following competencies:
- HLTFA301B Apply First Aid
- PUAEME001B Provide Emergency Care
- PUAEME002C Manage Injuries at an Emergency Incident
This course prepares you to provide first aid response, life support and management of casualties, the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
This course incorporates the content of 'Perform CPR' and 'Provide Basic Emergency Life Support'.
Prerequisites for 2 day course: nil
Prerequisites for 1 day course:
- have previously completed an accredited First Aid Course
- or be the holder of a current SLSA Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate
- or complete a Distance Learning Workbook prior to attending the course (duration for workbook approx 4-8 hours).
Renewal required every 3 years (renewal of CPR required annually).
