Member Recognition
Surf Life Saving SA values the contribution made to the movement by its members. Surf Life Saving Australia has a range of awards that are available for clubs to use to recognise their members. As such Surf Life Saving SA encourages clubs to apply for these awards should any of their members be eligible.
Completed forms are forwarded to Surf Life Saving SA for endorsement.
The recognition framework consists of the following awards, with forms and details provided on the SLSA Web Site:

| Long Service Award Club needs to check the applicant for correct years of service and detail this on the appropriate form. Once completed the form is to be sent to the State office to be approved and entered on Surfguard (Note: The State Office will enter this on to Surfguard). SLSA will send any certificate/award to the Club address. Clubs are to advise if they require a Year Pin ordered and are to note that the Club will be required to assume the cost for Pins. |

| National Patrol
Service Awards Clubs needs to check the aplicant for correct hours (must have a minimum of 16 hours from 2006 onwards; prior 2006 a minimum of 12 hours is required) and detail this on the appropriate form. Clubs are required to enter the applicant on to Surf Guard as a new award (Form 14). the award name will be the year they are applying for e.g.. 25 Years National Patrol Service award. The paperwork is then sent to SLSA (NOT THE STATE OFFICE). SLSA will send any certificate/award to the address provided on the paperwork. |

| National
Medal Clubs need to check the aplication for correct hours and years of service (e.g. min 15 years patrol with a minimum of 30 hours patrol service each year). Once completed the form is to be sent to State Office to be endorsed. It is then sent to SLSA where it is validated and sent to Canberra. SLSA will coordinate the sending of the medal to the applicant, which can take up to 6months. Nothing needs to be entered on Surfguard. |
