Surf Life Saving SA

DHL

DHL Australia has stood the test of time and is now a long term partner of Surf Life Saving.

DHL's distinctive logo, also red and yellow, is now visible on all Australian beaches, appearing on surf lifesaving patrol uniforms nationally and on all patrol tents in South Australia.

DHL's vision also extends to supporting lifesaving in the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on encouraging developing nations.

DHL commissioned a surf safety survey which found that males are more likely to ignore surf safety warnings than females. This valuable data has been used to improve the communication of surf safety messages to all user groups.

  • Adhere to word limits and write in point form if you can
  • Print out the summary of your application before submitting it so you have a copy for your records
  • Be specific when you describe the way in which the grant will help your club benefit from the program
  • Before applying look at the judging criteria to assist with your submission

The Judging Process

  • State-based committees made up of Surf Life Saving staff and DHL employees judge each application against the judging criteria
  • The Committee looks at the goals for the club, the support from the wider community, the number of volunteers currently enlisted, and both the long and short term benefits from the receipt of funds.
